SkyBus gets on board with cashless

We know that getting to the airport on time is important to our passengers. There’s nothing worse than waiting for a line of people to buy their ticket and receive change while you’re already in your seat ready to go.

That’s why SkyBus is going cashless on-board. After trialing this with the North Harbour Service and receiving great feedback, we will be taking this initiative to Auckland City Express.

What does this mean for our customers?

Faster services. EFTPOS and credit card transactions are much faster than cash (unless you’re super organized and have exact change). If you want to get on the bus the fastest, download the SkyBus app and purchase your ticket, storing it in the handy ticket-wallet. Don’t worry, for those of you who still use cash, you’ll be able to purchase tickets from the International and Domestic Kiosks at Auckland Airport.

Taking cash off buses makes a safer environment for our staff, allowing them to do what they do best and get our passengers to the airport.

This change takes place on Wednesday 1 January 2020 so make sure you’re ready to go cashless on-board!
